Well, I just found out that yvensong intends to use my story for her NaNoWriMo novel! Well, so much for living discreetly and off the radar, so to say! Argh!

Since she intends to expose me for who and what I am, I'll beat her to the punch! I'm a vampire. Oh, don't bother rolling your eyes at me, human! I didn't really believe in them either, until a few months ago, when I woke up as one.

In fact, until recently, I didn't believe in a lot of things. Sure, I played with the ideas in my head about a paranormal world, but in reality, I was very skeptical. Well, that's all changed. So as to not disturb your gentle minds, I won't get into everything that I've learned over the past few months.

Well, the sun is really irritating me. Even with every window blackened out, there still seems to be some seepage, so I'm off to my little den. Maybe I'll see you later this evening. {Evil grin}

My friend, Yvensong, has been encouraging me to write a blog. I’ve put it off, not sure I wanted to expose myself to the world. I’ve decided today, that would change.

Yvensong had handed me a book to read and so, I thought I’d start with that.

I’ve just finished reading The Awakening: The Vampire Huntress Legend. As I was reading this little bit of fiction, I found myself giggling at some of the more outrageous themes. Giving them a bit more consideration, maybe they aren’t all that laughable, after all.

Grant you; the vampire population in Reno, Nevada is nowhere as cumbersome as it is in Los Angeles, California. I’m not sure why, but I’ll get to a hypothesis in a moment. It seems that a city that has so many 24-hour spots to visit would be more welcoming to a night creature.

I think the most laughable theme in this novel, along with so many others like it, is that holy objects, even words will wipe out a vampire. {chuckles dryly} I suppose if that makes you feel safer and helps you sleep at night, then so be it. Let me not be the one to dash all your hopes and faith.

I could share with you what may work, but I won’t. I have no desire to be implemental in the eliminating of a species, no matter how abhorrent the species seems to you.

And now, my hypothesis – Reno’s 24-hour spots are downtown. There are lots of people around, but there are also a lot of bright lights glowing all night long. The dark streets of Los Angeles are much more conducive to the nature of a vampire’s desires.
